A sampling of pickled caraway carrots, beet pickled turnips, turmeric cauliflower. Gluten free

Cucumber tomato red onion salad
Served with pickled cabbage and a tahini-lemon vinaigrette. Gluten free

Roasted beet dip 
Roasted beet, olive oil, garlic, coriander, salt, & lemon juice. Served with 1 whole wheat pocket pita (pita contains gluten)

Samesa operates a mixed kitchen. The menu is 100% plant-based & vegan.

Spice Note
The green zhug (med spicy) sauce comes on the side. There is also a tahini-sauce on the side without spice.

Heating & Serving
Heating and serving instructions will be provided for a couple of dishes.

Restaurant Background

Samesa was opened by chefs and brothers Eli and Max Sussman, inspired by the food they ate growing up in Metro Detroit. The menu offers many vegan and vegetarian options. Max was previously the chef of Roberta’s in Bushwick and ran the kitchen when it received 2 stars from the NY Times. Eli was the chef of Mile End Deli. They both have been named Zagat 30 under 30’s and both were nominated for a James Beard award. Together they have written 4 cookbooks, three of which were published by Williams Sonoma.

Samesa is focused on creating and fostering a safe and welcoming environment for staff and customers. They also embrace and support the community through reduced cost or free catering for nonprofit and community organizations.  Samesa also is working to achieve responsible business practices through fair staff wages and thoughtful sourcing of organic and local products.
